Chronicle of last summer’s visit

I go the Botanical Garden in Oslo at least once per year, but I normally stick with exploring the grounds. The area is both a garden and multiple museums.
I’ve visited the zoological exhibitions multiple times. It connects me with my inner child and it’s fun to see kids learning and interacting with the installations.
With the winter house, it’s odd. I visited the first summer I spent in Oslo, and then never again. Last year I saw a story on Instagram that made me want to check it out again because for some reason the only memory I had from my previous visit was feeling suffocated and terrified to be nearby the carnivorous plants (I don’t know why, but they freak me out).
Anyway the pond section is super old, and I’m thinking that maybe it was out of order in my previous visit since I didn’t remember being there at all.
I loved it so much that I made a 3 page sketchbook spread about it. A quick process video:

Later I went to the Museum of Natural History (tickets are about 150 NOK per adult). The zoological section was as lovely as always (and later on when I went to the American Museum of Natural History I definitely saw where they got the influence from)

They finally opened the new geological exhibitions. They had been renovating that building for over 5 years. The entire installation is absolutely breathtaking and the source of mayor creative inspiration for me.
From fossil to drawing:

The minerals section is also interesting, but this post is getting too long. I’ll just finish with some images
